What is GMS?
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is a cellular standard of service used across the planet. Most of the world's cellular service is GSM making it relatively easy to travel from country to country with your own cell phone and number.
The service used predominantly in the United States is called CDMA (used by Verizon). GSM is quickly catching up in the US thanks to T-Mobile and Cingular/AT&T, although it is expensive to make or receive while traveling overseas.

What is a eSIM?
An eSIM is a SIM card that is embedded in a mobile device and can connect you to any operator offering eSIM services.
The eSIM works the same way as a traditional SIM card, but you don’t need a physical SIM card to use it. It is actually pre-installed in the device and you can activate it by installing the “eSIM profile” of a new operator.

What is a lock phone?
A locked phone is one that has been altered in order to use only one particular cellular provider (for example: T-Mobile, 02, Vodafone or Cingular etc). An unlocked phone is one where any restriction has been removed and can therefore you can fit any SIM card.
Many handsets are not locked at all. Some handsets however are "locked" by the supplying network to operate with their specific network SIM card.
The easiest way to find out if your handset is locked is to borrow a different network SIM card from a friend and fit it to your handset. If you see any of the following messages your handset is probably locked:
• SIM Card Not Accepted
• Enter Restriction Code
• Enter Special Code
• Enter Subsidy Code
• Enter Subsidy Password
If you need your handset unlocking, you have 3 options:
1. Visit our unlocking partner site to unlock your handset on-line (there is a charge for this service).
2. Visit you local retailer or service centre to unlock your handset. Prices will vary so we advise you to call in advance and ensure they can unlock your particular model.
3. Contact your usual network provider. They can usually provide this service but it tends to be more expensive than the options above and may involve sending your phone away.
Remember, once your handset is unlocked you are free to use a GSM SIM card as many times as you like - so you can continue to make massive savings on your calls in the future!

What is roaming?
When you take your mobile phone abroad, your phone "roams" onto overseas mobile networks. This enables you to continue using your mobile almost as you would in the UK, but with your existing operator there can be significant extra costs for calls, voicemail and all your customer services. When you move between countries, Noroamingsim™ will move seamlessly with you, picking up a new network as soon as you arrive in a new destination, enabling you to make cheap calls the moment you step off the plane.
Can I use it in Japan & South Korea?
Yes, works in Japan. However, to use it in Japan requires a 3GSM (or 3G) mobile phone that supports WCDMA 2100. This is still a GSM phone, however it is using 3rd generation technology which is deployed in Japan. There are 2 different 3G standards presently in use. To ensure that you have the correct phone for roaming in Japan, it is advisable that you check with either your current network operator, or preferably refer to their mobile’s handbook to determine whether or not it is WCDMA 2100 compatible.

How do I make a call ?
GVC works just like a normal SIM card with one small difference when making a call. GVC uses call-back technology to ensure you get the lowest rates. With GVC, you dial your number as normal always using the full country code. However, instead of getting directly through to the person you are calling, there will be a brief 'call back' between dialing the number and being connected. A few seconds after making your call, your mobile phone will ring. Answer the call, and your call will be connected. to the party you are calling.
1. Dial the number including the full international dialing code ie. 33949494949#
2. You will see a "Please Wait" message. The phone will then disconnect. Please note that different phones will display varied messages. Some may even say "call failed?, "call rejected?, or "sending a request?. These are all a normal feature.
3. Please wait. Within a few seconds you will receive a 'callback' and your phone will ring.
4. Answer the call
5. You will be connected to the person you are calling
